Bar Stock Control

Get to know the importance of practising good stock control and how to effectively carry out a stocktake. Address stock control problems and manage a successful stock control team.

Cellar Management for Managers

Find out all you need to know about managing a cellar including the care of dispensing equipment, and maintaining kegs, casks, wine and packaged drinks. Learn about running a safe and hygienic cellar and how to serve the perfect pint.

Effective Teams

Learners will differentiate between a group anda team. They will learn how to build a team, including exploring recruitment, team roles and dynamics and will practise team communication and giving feedback. They will find out about team conflict, including causes and types, styles of conflict management, and how to prevent it.

Employment Law

Learning about employment law is crucial for a manager. This resource covers discipline and grievance processes, equality and diversity. Learners will examine best practice regarding absence, social media, employment contracts, training and interviews. They will also be able to recognise and deal with discrimination and misconduct.

Food Safety for Managers

In this resource, managers will study current food safety legislation. You will learn about managerial and legal responsibilities in relation to food safety. Tapies also include how to implement training, prepare for inspections, cleaning procedures and products, and promoting and applying good health and hygiene.

You have a legal responsibility to protect personal data in the workplace. Learn about data protection and the law for both staff and consumers.

lntroduction to Management

Learners will study the techniques of how to be a good manager, including dealing with a crisis, setting professional standards, and using management checklists, tools and resources.

Leadership

This resource explains the difference between management and leadership, while defining leadership qualities and how to inspire others. Learners will gain a comprehensive knowledge of the different styles and effects of leadership, and how to hold successful briefings, coach teams, motívate and influence your team.

Recruit the Right Person

Learn how to forecast recruitment needs, develop a personal specification using SWOT analysis, then write an effective job advert. Evaluate candidates' CVs and cover letters, and plan a structured interview using effective communication techniques. Learners will assess interview performance and references and plan an on-boarding process including legal paperwork.
